Art
therapy is the therapeutic use of art-making
within a professional relationship by people who are experiencing
challenges, illness, or trauma, and by people who seek personal
development.
Art therapy is
based on the belief that the creative process involved in the making of
art is healing and life-enhancing.
We
provide innovative ways to unleash
creativity. No art experience is necessary, only a craving to
explore art
materials, have tons of fun and express the true you. Who comes
to the
studio? First-timers who have no art skills, but seek a fresh
method of
self-exploration... artsy folk who enjoy an exciting array of unique
materials... or searching souls looking for a creative community.
All
delight in their discovery. It's a magical place.
Programs
are available for children, adolescents and adults with learning and
developmental disabilities such as autism, Down syndrome, pervasive
developmental disorders and other neurological dysfunctions, as well as
individuals with mental health issues, brain injuries and physical
disabilities. But, here at the studio,
we encourage only one label... artist.
